![]() ![]() I noticed that some of the songs started getting too complicated and I started steeling voices (or, worse, the piano was having voices stolen from it!) I got the 150PF to compensate for that, and so when I accompany a SMF on piano, it's always using the 150PF, not the stock S80. The reason I got the plugin is because I was making SMFs to playback on the S80 while I accompanied on piano. The main piano's on the PF are somewhat comparable to the S80's but there's an artificat from around E4 to C5 that drives me nuts! It's not like anyone else knows it's there (heck, I don't even hear it on the shootout recording), but I KNOW IT'S THERE! IMHO, all in all, I like the S80's pianos better, although there's more variety with the 150PF. We're considering buying a used S90 for about 1000, but I can probably get a used S90ES for about 1500. Only compaint are the amp inputs which are all cluttered in one location that confuses me. I'm especially interested in the basic piano sounds as well as solo string, woodwinds, and other orchestra instruments. This S90 ES has great painos and Rhodes electric piano sounds and Clavs that work great on stage. ![]() My main keyboard is the S80, and I have the PLG150PF plugged in it as well. I would like your opinions on the sound quality of the S90 vs. Anyway, I don't know what his preference would be now, but he liked it back then. ![]() Incidentally, if memory serves, the originator of that site (who I think may still hang out on this board, so if what I'm about to say is incorrect, feel free to correct me!) said back then that his favorite piano from the shootout was the PLG-150PF in the S80. Sheesh! I remeber when that shooutout only had a half dozen or so comparisons! ![]()
